2017 at a Glance
This was a year of record achievements for FCDI, including:
- Our first ever Robot in 1 Weekend livestreamed FIRST Tech Challenge build event, in collaboration with FIRST Alumni, University Mall and !p
- Our biggest ever ROBOTICON youth STEM showcase & FIRST off-season event, with over 3000 people in
attendance, produced in partnership with the University of South Florida and Hillsborough County - Working with The People of Manufacturing, St. Petersburg College and other community partners in the development of the Tampa Bay Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics Center, aiming for an early 2018 launch,
- Partnering with St. Petersburg College & SPCs iLab for an expanded Gulf Coast Maker & Comic Con event set for March 24 at the SPC-Seminole campus
- Recognition by the Lightning Foundation via the Lightning Community Hero program
All told, our programs reach thousands throughout Tampa Bay., and more online through our website resources and program support.
